Diego López: “I hope they enjoy the Valencia CF Academy World Cup”
The Valencia CF striker is this year's ambassador
The coaches and players at the Valencia CF Soccer Academy in Busan have shown off their cooking skills this weekend, participating in World Paella Day. Whilst some of the more traditional ingredients may have been unavailable to them, there is always room for adaptation, and a Korean version using kimchi was the end result.
World Paella Day is an event that has a worldwide impact, and that has received support from the club on two fronts: Firstly, in Valencia with the presentation and celebration of the 'World Paella Day Cup' at Mestalla. Secondly, on a global level, the VCF Academies internationally such as those in Busan and Cyprus have participated in this special celebration.
Valencia CF encourage all who represent the club around the world to learn about Valencian culture and traditions, through other activities besides football itself.
With initiatives like this, the VCFAcademy seeks to transcend football, strengthening the bond between Valencia and the club's Soccer Schools. In addition, initiatives such as World Paella Day create a greater sense of belonging amongst the players, local coaches and families who allow Valencia CF to be part of their lives.
